Royal Quays Community Rowing Club - Call for members

A rare new opportunity to regularly row a wooden boat built in Byker!

Over fifteen weeks from January to May 2012, Alex Finnegan of PuppetShip CIC led a boat building course in Byker for excluded teenagers and adults recovering from alcohol / substance abuse.

He enabled them to gain the practical skills needed to build a beautiful 22ft five seat rowing skiff, Byker Belle.

In the six months since building Byker Belle, Alex Finnegan has subsequently led the way in creating a Community Rowing Club.

Exciting opportunities await new members, which include regularly rowing Byker Belle on the River Tyne.

Membership is currently open to over 18s unless under 18s have a parent / legal Guardian who is also a member.
